What’s in the Box?

​Apart from the actual phone base itself, the Poly Edge B30 IP Phone contains a quick start guide, user manual, CAT5E Cable, RJ-11 handset cable, handset, and kickstand.

First Impressions

​Poly Edge B30 IP Phone follows a sleek design with matt back finish. In contrast to Poly Edge B10 and B20, this phone supports POE so; it is a big plus. Although it is still an entry-level phone, it supports a few more features as compared to other models in this series. Poly Edge B30 IP Phone does not come with a power adaptor so, you can get a separate power cable or use POE to connect.  

Interfaces

Poly Edge B30 IP Phone has a 2.8 inches backlit monochrome screen. It is quite easy to use as everything is laid out in its right place. It has got volume buttons, holds and transfer call buttons, and typical directional buttons to control the options on the screen.

​Other than this, it has four function keys and line capable buttons on both sides of the screen. Also, on the side, there is a 3.5 mm headset port to connect a wired headset or earphones.

Technical Specifications​

​Poly Edge B30 has 4 visible line keys and it supports 16 line capability. It has a shared calling line appearance and supports a bridged line appearance. It is easy to plug-n-play because of simple provisioning and it is easy to connect to a cloud service provider by simply connecting to the internet. This phone also supports Poly’s HD voice and has Poly’s acoustic fence technology so, the HD voice is not only supported by the handset but also works for the speakerphone. Which is a Win win for this Set. Win-win

​ Poly Edge B30 supports local 5-way audio conferencing and it uses Unicode to UTF-8 character support. It can be used in multiple languages. Some of the other best features include voicemail support, a busy lamp field, do not disturb, 4-context sensitive soft keys, and a 4-way navigation keypad. Also, it has pagination keys for additional line support and contact support. 

Outlets ​

​On the back of Poly Edge B30 IP Phone, there is a key lock, Ethernet pass-through, regular network port to connect to the internet, headset jack, RJ11 connector port for the handset, and Power over Ethernet port. Also, the back has mounting options for wall mounting the phone. 

Pros

• Poly Edge B30 IP Phone has a great design. It is fresh as compared to the VVX and CCX series. Also, it has got a really good size so, it can be set on small desks.
• The keys on the Poly Edge B30 IP Phone are laid out ergonomically. All the options are sensibly laid out.
• Poly Edge B30 IP Phone is affordable for small businesses and startups containing all the basic features. 
• Poly Edge B30 IP Phone offers headset support.

 
Cons                                 

• Poly Edge B30 IP Phone does not provide USB support. Most headsets used today are either wireless or USB-powered so this phone lacks that.
• Poly Edge B30 IP Phone does not have built-in Bluetooth or Wi-Fi support. However, a USB or Wi-Fi dongle can be used.
