What’s in the Box?

Apart from the phone itself, Poly Trio 8300 Smart Conference Phone box contains the user guide manual, 25 foot CAT5 cable, 7 foot CAT5 cable, a couple of POE injectors, and a couple of AC adaptors. Having cables included in the box is a nice touch; so you do not have to buy it separately.

​Poly Trio 8300 Smart Conference Phone has a numeric keypad and even though it is a conference phone, it has got the other desk-styled phone features as well. In the mid, there are directional keys and a back key to move around through menus. It has also got the typical home button; so if you are lost in the menu, you simply navigate to the main menu. Other typical phone buttons in the list include volume up and down buttons and mute buttons.

​On the back and side of the Poly Trio 8300 Smart Conference Phone, there are different interfaces and outlets to connect cables and power. There is a CAT5 port to configure an internet connection and two RJ9s for the headset or microphone. Also, it has an Ethernet port which is POE if you want to power it using the internet cable only. 

On the back of Poly Trio 8300 Smart Conference Phone, there is a phone lock that has got a mini USB port and headset jack for connection. The USB port can be used to charge the phone or to use an external storage device for recording.

​Poly Trio 8300 Smart Conference Phone offers voice activity detection, comfort noise generation, adaptive jitter buffers, and packet loss concealment port. There is Bluetooth connectivity which is a big plus for people who wants to go hands-free and you can connect this phone to a wireless network connection without any Ethernet cable because of the Wi-Fi feature. Some other calls handling features for this phone include three shared line appearance, distinctive incoming call treatment, call waiting, call timer, and call disturb.

Cons
 

• Poly Trio 8300 Smart Conference Phone has a monochrome screen. It is not color LED or LCD screen that some of the other Polycom phones offer. Also, it is not backlit so in a low lighting environment, looking at the options on the screen can be a problem.
