Rich Technology Group highly regards Cisco for its great VoIP services and robust features. We have been recommending Cisco to a lot of our customers based on their needs so we have been in close touch with Cisco’s team. Recently, Rich Technology Group has got the opportunity to interview Cisco’s Global Lead Geoff Works at the Channel Partners Conference in Las Vegas. Some of the questions asked by Rich and their answers are given below. Geoff Works Head of Agency - Webex by Cisco What is Cisco WebEx? Our WebEx calling is a multi-tenant Ucas solution that is feature-rich, has full functionality and availability, and offers high reliability. This is our key cloud go-to-market unified communications as a service solution. What size do businesses benefit from Cisco’s WebEx phone systems? The focus of where we want to start to push down, towards is really organizations with anywhere from one to up to a thousand users; and that is really what we can scale to and our focus for the agency is really in that SMB and smaller space; to make Cisco more accessible to smaller organizations and businesses. That’s really what we want to drive and focus towards and obviously; we play very well in the enterprise space too. However, we wanted an option for customers to consume Cisco quickly, and easily and that’s really our goal around is to try to be simpler; to do business with and that’s key for SMB organizations. In this video we interview Geoff Works, Global Agency Program Leader for Cisco about how WebEx has redefined Cisco Phone Systems as we know it! Are users required to use Cisco IP Phone exclusively? How WebEX redefined Cisco Phone Systems? We love users to use the Cisco IP Phones off-course. They can reuse their existing IP Phone in a lot of cases. Certain models work and can migrate from their existing solutions and UCM platforms that they have but we do also integrate and we have a lot of organizations that run third-party SIP phones as well so it just depends on what would work with the platform. We love to have the benefits of that seamlessly integrated hardware capabilities with the WebEx calling and without video devices as well. What are some of the most popular features of WebEx? A big one that is critical to organizations in today’s world is E-911. So, red sky and our capabilities that are built into the WebEx calling platform; are a huge component of security and the pieces that; we have embedded. In addition to that, we have the embedded security wrapped and is built into the base of the encryption; and that too is part of the overall solution. So, there is nothing additional for our customers. In addition to the traditional transfer conference, bridge call appearance capabilities, key system emulation, and things along those lines, our embedded security, and E-911 are key differentiators for us. What is the advice for existing Cisco users looking to upgrade? As consumption models change and as organization requirements change, Cisco is moving so heavily to the cloud and embedding those capabilities within our cloud platform. The key behind the cloud is to provide flexibility, upgrades, and updates that our customers need and the new functionality that they need on a more regular basis in a simple and easy-to-consume manner. For existing Cisco customers; I would ask you to check out our WebEx calling capabilities; and what we can do to migrate seamlessly so, you can leverage that existing investment that you already have; within Cisco and be able to have the same management infrastructure and bring your organization forward into the cloud; to provide those newer functionalities that are required for businesses to be competitive. The ask would be to give us a try. If you are not an existing Cisco customer; at least from a calling perspective; you know of Cisco and our capabilities across a variety of different industries with regards to routing, switching, security, SD-WAN, and all other different features. The investments we are making in our WebEx calling platform and the investments; that we have made in the past 18 months; are phenomenal so, this is not the old WebEx. This is a solution that we are committed to and something that; we are providing to customers again within that embedded reliability; that embedded availability, security, and all different pieces.
