In our latest interview, we had the pleasure of speaking with Jimmy Riordan, a strategic overseas partner with Google, about the company's innovative operating system, Google Chrome OS. Below are the questions our CEO, Prince Rich, posed to Jimmy Riordan and Riordan's insightful answers. What is Google Chrome OS?Google Chrome OS is a cloud-based operating system making waves in education and enterprise spaces. Currently, the number two operating system in the world, behind only Windows, Chrome OS is rapidly expanding its capabilities to meet the needs of businesses of all types. With various form factors and device options, Chrome OS is uniquely positioned to address common pain points in contact centers and unified communications. How does Chrome OS enhance business communications? At Google, we're committed to redefining business applications and solutions with the power of Chrome OS. To that end, we launched the Chrome Enterprise Recommended program two years ago in partnership with the industry's top UCAS and CCAS providers. With partners like Vonage, RingCentral, and Cisco, we've taken their solutions, tested them, certified them, and optimized them to run more efficiently on Chrome OS devices compared to Windows and Mac. Says: "Jimmy Riordan, a strategic overseas partner with Google." As softphones and WebRTC technology continue to gain traction, we're seeing more and more users turning to desktops with headsets to complete their work. We're partnering with UCAAS and CCAS providers to bring Chrome OS devices to their customers and empower remote agents and information workers. The benefits have been outstanding: according to an IDC report from last October, our devices deploy 76% faster than Windows 10 devices and have experienced zero ransomware attacks from a security standpoint. Additionally, security attacks are down 24%, making Chrome OS devices a smart choice for businesses looking to protect their workers. Most exciting, contact center agent productivity is up 19% compared to Windows and Mac devices. Whether you're a UCAAS worker, a CCAS worker, or both, there's a lot to be gained from the speed and security of Chrome OS. How does Chrome OS reduce IT support class? How Google Chrome OS Can Improve Your Business Communications!Another recent IDC report revealed that 40% of information workers are now cloud workers working remotely. A cloud-based operating system like Google Chrome OS makes deploying and managing devices a breeze for IT departments. They can access the Google Admin Console, which boasts over 500 configurable policies. With Zero Touch Enrollment, remote employees, information workers, and contact center agents can drop their devices directly to them, allowing for quick and easy setup. Google Chrome OS devices can lead to 44% lower cost operations for IT departments, making it a smart choice for companies with smaller IT teams. Regarding cost and price, Chrome OS devices offer a lower total cost of ownership and a 245% average three-year ROI, making it an investment worth considering for businesses looking to streamline operations and maximize efficiency. How does Chrome OS accelerate workforce deployment? For many contact centers and agents in the new wave of remote work, this may be their first job in the workforce. Interestingly, they have used tools like Chromebooks, Gmail, and Google Docs for the past decade. Providing them with Google solutions and hardware can help them get up and running quickly and be more productive. This allows them to get to work faster and gives businesses a better ROI on each employee. Chrome OS-compatible VOIP Service ProvidersOne example of a great solution for Chrome devices is Zoom, which launched a Progressive Web App (PWA) last year. Essentially, a web-based solution is made to look more like a downloadable application. It's worth noting that nothing is stored locally on these devices, as everything is cloud-based. Therefore, the apps installed or downloaded are PWAs, making them faster to work with. In addition to Zoom, RingCentral and 8x8 also have Progressive Web Apps. Another solution worth mentioning is DialPad. Here's how Google Chrome OS enhances business communications w/ special guest Jimmy Riordan from Google. |
